Introducing the 3D’s of Chart Patterns

September 01, 2008 By: Jules Category: Chart Patterns, Stock Options & Trading, Videos 3 Comments →

Today I’d like to introduce you to the 3D’s of Chart Pattern reading.  You see when you trade using chart patterns you have a distinct advantage over other methods of analysis.

Chart Patterns offer you the following key functions.  They give you:

1) Day of entry,

2) Direction in which the share price is trending,

3) Duration for which the share price will continue in that direction.

This is what I refer to as the 3D’s of Chart Patterns.

Remember the Stock Market is really just about supply and demand, or investors who are buyers and sellers, and many of those people base their investment decisions not only on emotion and fear, but on what everyone else is doing.

When you have the skills to effectively read this investor sentiment in a stock chart, you have a massive advantage for trading stock options over the short term.

So we’ve created another 2 video tutorials that will introduce you to the 3D’s of Chart Patterns and how it works.

Chart Patterns Video: How to Trade the Double Top

August 28, 2008 By: Jules Category: Chart Patterns, Stock Options & Trading, Videos 5 Comments →

I have a confession to make…..I wasn’t always successful at options trading…I learnt the hard way. In my early trading years, I’d been making really good profits for some time but when the market became indecisive and took some sharp turns in direction I was left out of pocket and feeling very defeated.

Learning how to trade Chart Patterns gave me an advanced way to read the market, and really boosted my confidence.

That’s why I realise how very important it is for you to understand how to use chart pattern analysis and how to trade each pattern so I’ve created a video tutorial that will walk you step by step through a “Double-Top” chart pattern.

So grab a cuppa, sit back, relax and brace yourself for an informative chart pattern video:

{vidavee id=”13564″ w=”450″ }

In this video I walk you through a chart and show you:

·         What I am looking for in the chart,

·         How I formulate my pattern “hypothesis”,

·         Where I draw my Support lines and why,

·         What I am waiting for to signal my entry,

·         Where I set my profit target,

·         How I take my profit to close the trade.

Enjoy the video and be sure to leave a comment below to let me know your thoughts.

Options Trading: How to Create Your Watchlist

August 27, 2008 By: Jules Category: Stock Options & Trading, Videos 2 Comments →

Quite a few of the questions I’ve been asked in our survey the last day or so, have been regarding the process of selecting the best stocks for Options Trading, and how to actually go about creating a watchlist of the most profitable stocks.

Many of you are already familiar with the process we use, however just recently the ASX have changed their website, so you may now find it a little different when navigating your way to the relevant report.

Take a few minutes to watch this video as I run through the exact steps on the computer screen.

{vidavee id=”13547″ w=”450″ }

We are specifically looking for the latest Historical ASX Options Data Report.

Once we have this PDF report open, we are only interested in those stocks that have a 3 letter code. Stock codes that have more than 3 letters are relating to other variants that don’t apply to us as options traders.

Of those stocks, we are specifically looking for the ones that have a total of 20,000 or more Lots Traded. That is, when you add the number of Puts traded with the number of Calls traded, the result is a minimum of 20,000.

This number indicates the liquidity of a stock. By trading stocks with high liquidity we have peace of mind knowing we can easily open and close any one position.

OK, that’s it for now. Be sure to post a comment below to let me know what you think and what you’d like to see next.

Options Trading: Support & Resistance Video

August 25, 2008 By: Jules Category: Chart Patterns, Stock Options & Trading, Videos 11 Comments →

One of the common areas people struggle with when charting, is the correct placement of support and resistance lines. Whether you are trading with Chart Pattern Analysis or any other trading system, support and resistance play a vital role in your trading success.

My aim with this video is to take away some of the confusion and lay a few ground rules so you know exactly what to look for in order to chart these levels confidently.

{vidavee id=”13515″ w=”480″ }

Make sure you pause the video if you need to, and even print off some charts and use a ruler and pencil to practice what you’ve just learnt.

Stock Trading or Stock Options Trading: Which is Best?

August 22, 2008 By: Jules Category: Stock Options & Trading No Comments →

When the average person thinks of trading and the stock market, they tend to think of buying shares and selling them soon after for a profit. This is called Stock Trading, and yes, it can be quite an effective strategy for generating an income in a rising market.

But how does the trader adapt this strategy to a falling market?

Sure, there are creative ways to profit from actual shares in a falling market, such as buying and shorting shares, but many of those strategies involve high, unlimited risk, and that’s just not my style. (more…)

Stock Options Trading: Learn to Trade The Simple Way

What led me to Stock Options Trading for a Living?

Before my success in Options Trading, I was a slave to a career that consumed my life. My health and my family suffered thanks to the stress I was under and the lack of TIME I had for either. I figured there had to be a better way to make a living and actually have a quality lifestyle.

I knew someone who had been trading for a living, so I began researching Stock Options Trading in every detail… and after years of application I eventually developed my very own trading system. Let me tell you, that was not as easy as it sounds, what I would have given back then to know what I know now.

At some stage in your trading career, as you progress from a novice to a more experienced trader, you may wish to bypass the full service broker and trade your account through an online trading platform.

This is becoming the preferred choice of many traders today, however there are so many providers out there, it can be hard to decide which platform to use. (more…)

How Do Stock Options Work?

August 07, 2008 By: Jules Category: Stock Options & Trading, Videos No Comments →

You may find when you mention your interest in learning how to trade stock options to your friends and family, that you will get a bit of negativity. Actually, with the condition of the stock market at the moment, you might even get a LOT of negativity.

I remember hearing “It’s too risky”, ”That’s a sure way to lose money” and “That’s best left to the professionals!” when I told people what I was doing. People react this way because they don’t know how Stock Options work. (more…)
